Y nadie es más simpática para asesinar el acento que Sofía Vergara.
Esta ha sido una de las características de su personaje, Gloria, en “Modern Family“. Gloria es una apasionada, atractiva y escandalosa latina casada con un hombre mayor que ella y enfocada en la educación de su hijo, Manny; siempre atrapada en situaciones cross-culturales y lingüísticas.
Aparte de las referencias a la procedencia de Gloria – el personaje viene de un violento pueblo colombiano – uno de los móviles para crear malentendidos en la simpática serie de Christopher Lloyd y Steven Levitan que se transmite por ABC, es la capacidad de Gloria para deformar la pronunciación en Inglés de prácticamente cualquier palabra o nombre que tenga que pronunciar.
Y casi como homenaje a su propia nominación a los Globos de Oro 2012 en la categoría de “Mejor Actriz de Reparto en Serie, Mini Serie o Película para TV”, Sofía Vergara prácticamente masacró algunos de los nombres que le tocó pronunciar en la presentación.
Al leer los nominados a mejor director, Vergara se enredó un poco con algunos apellidos pero especialmente con el del director y guionista francés Michel Hazanavicius pero especialmente con Martin Scorsese, a quien le cambió no sólo el apellido ¡sino también el nombre!.
Sin embargo, Sofía resolvió su desliz al pronunciar estos dos últimos nombres con una mueca de interrogación que podría significar “¿y cómo &*#@ se pronuncia esto…? y se marchó con una sonrisa que le salvó la presentación.
“Modern Family” – ganadora de varios premios incluidos un Emmy y cuatro nominaciones anteriores a los Globos de Oro – resultó igualmente nominada en la categoría de “Mejor Serie de Comedia para Televisión”, aunque la protagonista de la noche fue la comedia retro “The artist” con 6 nominaciones.
La 69 ceremonia de entrega de los Golden Globe Awards se celebrará en enero del 2012. Los premios Globo de Oro, como se les nombra en español, son galardones de cine y televisión otorgados por la prensa extranjera acreditada en Hollywood y que se entregan desde el 1944.
